Edwina Berry Luker, 75, of Norman passed away Sunday December 24, 2017 at Norman Regional Hospital.
Edwina was born August 7, 1942 in Enid, OK to Charles Gilbert Berry and Margaret (Wilkins) Roy. She earned her Master's degree in social work, at the University of Oklahoma  which led her to a very rewarding 38.7 years with the Veteran Administration in Oklahoma City.  She was instrumental in the early recognition of Post Traumatic Stress in Vietnam Veterans and assisted thousands of Vietnam Veterans with not only treatment, but disability benefits.   She prided herself in the work she started with the OEF/OIF Program for returning Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans and has been described by her "Hero's" as "Warrior for Veterans".  In her spare time she enjoyed showing and racing horses and traveling. She adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved spending time with her family.  She was called Mom and Memaw by more than just those blood related.  She was our Hero.  She was deeply loved and will be forever missed.
Survivors include her children: Philip and Jeri Whitney of Maine and Teresa and Terry Sterling of Norman; grandchildren: Cole Whitney, Samuel Whitney, Johnna and Kent Mosley, Dylan Sterling; great-grandchildren: Kylee Mosley and Addison Mosley; sister: Jane Marcellus; Granddogs: Curly Bill Brody and Sadie Mae Hawkins;  Great Granddog: Bear D.A. and Piper; and of course her favorite child and Maine Coon Cat BooBoo Kitty.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Terry Joe Luker.
