Donald M. Ezzell, 92, passed away in his sleep January 17, 2018 in Norman, Oklahoma. Don was born September 29, 1925, in Norman, Oklahoma to parents Robert Clarence Ezzell and Bonnie Eloda Mattox Ezzell. Don was one of six children born to the Ezzells. He shared many childhood adventures growing up with his brother Robert Clarence Jr., and four sisters Charlotte, Evelyn, Shirley and Beverly Imogene (the sole remaining sibling). After graduating from Norman High School, Don and his lifelong friend Joe Merkle enlisted with the Merchant Marines where they served our country during WWII. After the Merchant Marines, Don returned to Tinker Air Force Base, where he had worked prior to the war. He fell in love and married pretty, petite Billie Ann Polk. They raised three children before Billies passing in 1996. A few years after Billie passed away, Don again found love and companionship with his second wife, Audrey Arnell. He is survived by Audrey, his three children; Donna Jean Guinn, Joe David Ezzell (and wife Dana), James Clifford Ezzell (and wife Cosma). and four grandchildren; Hal Ezzell; Jamie Guinn Miller; Robbie Davis; Lauren Sjulin; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. When he survived a heart attack some thirty years ago; Barbara Swartz and Tara Lyon, two of his cardiac nurses, helped him through this difficult time. He cherished them dearly for the rest of his life. He will be remembered as intelligent, caring, and true to himself. Service for Don will be held on January at 11:00 AM on January 23 at Faith Pointe Baptist Church, 3404 36th NW, Norman, OK.
