W. David Rust, Scientist Emeritus of the National Severe Storms Laboratory, Fellow of the American Geophysical Union and American Meteorological Society, but more importantly husband, father and grandfather passed into eternal life surround by his family on May 8, 2017. His wife Linda of the home, having celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in June, survives him. Son Todd Rust of Oklahoma City, OK. Daughter Amy and husband Randy Madden of Norman, OK and their children Connor and Davey. Gladys Rust, aunt of New Braunfels, TX. Cousins, Mike and Libby Rust and their family and Dennis Rust and his wife Mary and their family of New Braunfels, TX. Mother-in-law Ernestine Guinn of New Braunfels, TX. Brother-in-law Orville Guinn Jr and his family Tami, Lacy and Casey. Special friends Kay and Paul Krehbiel of Socorro, NM and Don and Venita MacGorman of Norman, OK. Numerous colleagues of the National Severe Storms Laboratory, fellow scientists and former students. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilmar and Martha Rust, of Norman, OK formerly of New Braunfels, TX. A service to celebrate his life will be on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 3PM at McFarlin United Methodist Church at 419 S University in Norman, OK. Suggested memorials are the Parkinson Foundation of Oklahoma City and the Oklahoma chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
