Charles Franklin Smith, Jr. Charles Franklin Smith, Jr, 90, passed from this life on December 4, 2018. He was born 01/02/28 to Charles Franklin Smith, Sr, and Fern (Nelson) Smith in Los Angeles, Ca. He served his country during WWII, from the age of 15 in July 1943 to March 1946. He served aboard the destroyer escort USS Mosley for a lot of that time. After his return to civilian life he worked in the tool and die industry until he moved to TX in 1968 to purchase land to build a mobile home park which he completed in 1969. He moved to Okla in 1988 to work as a maintenance supervisor. He and his wife Bonnie spent many years traveling throughout the US as well as camping in many different parks in their 5th wheel. They square danced for many years and traveled for their entertainment. He is survived by his wife Bonnie (Johnston Hickey), his son Michael T. Smith (Jo) of Dallas, daughter, Cheryl Smock, of Az, one step-son Michael Robinson (Linda) of Denver, Co. Two stepdaughters, 3 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was a good, loving husband and companion, as well as a great dad and grandfather. He is already being missed. A memorial service will be held at John Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, OK, at 2:00 PM.
