Charles (Frank)'s Story
Frank Ketner was born to George Lee and Dannie Mae (Kirby) Ketner on May 26, 1932 east of Noble on the family farm. He made his home near the same home place for the last 33 years and unexpectedly passed away there on March 11, 2017.
Frank grew up and attended school in Noble and graduated with the Class 1950. He enrolled that same year at OSU and was a member of the ROTC Program. He studied and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Husbandry. On April 2, 1954 Frank married a grade school classmate Miss Billie McAlister at Stillwater, Ok. On January 7, 1955 he was called to active duty by the U.S. Army as a Second Lieutenant and attended the Infantry School at Ft. Benning, Georgia before receiving orders to Korea. He received an Honorable Discharge as First Lientenant on February 12, 1957. He returned to OSU to further his studies and received a Masters Degree in Entomology. He was employed with the Oklahoma State Exension Service as a County Agent and the the USDA before his retirement. He and Billie made their home in Round Rock, Tx. for many years while owning and operating an equipment rental co.
They retired and moved back to Noble in (1983) by the home place where he passed away. They were longtime members of the Noble First Baptist Church. He enjoyed camping and fishing, raising chickens and restoring tractors, Frank was a caring Husband, Father and Grandfather and loved each member of his family dearly especially spending time with his Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Granddaughter Erin Ketner 2 Brothers; Harold (Doc) Ketner and Jesse Ketner. Those who survive him include his Wife of 62 years Billie Ketner of the home, Son Russell Frank Ketner and wife Elaine of Washington, Ok., Daughter Leslee Ketner of Austin, Tx., 3 Sisters; Inez Keller, Genny Keller and husband Donald and Lorene Fields, Grandchildren; Erin Ketner (deceased), Lindsey Rae, Haley Rene`e, Tyler Frank, Jacob Henry and Luke Jarrel, numerous other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
Visitation Hours will be held from 2:00pm-7:00pm Friday, March 17th, the family will greet friends from 4:00pm-6:00pm at McMahans Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:30am Saturday, March 18th at the Noble First Baptist Church with Dr. Cleve Haley officiating. Interment will follow at the Noble IOOF Cemetery with Military Honors by the U.S. Army. Services Arranged and Directed By McMahans Funeral Home.
