Cecile Marie Willeford Sharp, 91, passed away Friday, February 2nd, 2018 peacefully at home surrounded by family.
She was born on July 17, 1926 in the rural community of East Mountain, Texas to Cecil Willeford and Virginia Salter Willeford. They preceded her in death when she was very young. She and her youngest brother were adopted by their maternal grandmother and her two older brothers were raised in a children's home in Quinlin, Texas.
On Valentine's Day in 1940, at the age of 13, Marie promised eternal love to her sweetheart, Ott Sharp. After graduating from East Mountain High School in 1943, Marie and Ott were married on January 25, 1945 in San Diego by her minister brother, James Willeford.
In 1947, Marie and Ott moved to Madison, Wisconsin, where he enrolled in the University and Marie worked in a local dry cleaners. In 1952 they returned to Texas where they worked various jobs for eight years. In 1960 they moved to Norman to establish a dry cleaning store, which is still in operation.
Marie was preceded in death by her son Stephen Sharp and is survived by her husband of 73 years, son David Sharp, sister-in-law Dean Wakeland, and granddaughters Katherine, Allison and husband Viktor, grandson Bryan, and great grandson Parker.
Marie's family invites you to a Celebration of her Life at 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 9th, 2018, at Alameda Church of Christ, 801 East Alameda, where she and Ott became charter members in 1967.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given to the American Diabetic Association.
