Carolyn Josephine Eyler
She was born February 11, 1927 in Stratford, OK to Madison Monroe and Maggie Lena (Byford) Burnett. She married George Eyler on June 9, 1950 in Stratford, OK.
Carolyn was a keen homemaker and craftswoman. Many a young girl in her family was the delighted recipient of Barbie clothes she made by hand. She made hundreds of patchwork quilts to share with others, from children and grandbabies to the homeless shelter in Norman. Every holiday and special occasion was an opportunity for her to share her crafts or tailor an outfit. Carolyn also showed her love for family and friends with her culinary skills, sharing cookies, cakes and her favorite recipes with them. She was patient and kind in teaching her skills to her children and grandchildren. Carolyn graduated from OSU and loved to cheer on her Cowboys. She was a sports fan and loved watching basketball, football, golf and baseball. Carolyn had a song in her heart and often sang as she went about her day. Many have been quoted as saying that, "Carolyn was the nicest person." Above all she loved her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
