Audrey's Story

Audrey K Brumage of Norman, Oklahoma passed away September 23, 2017. She was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, the daughter of Earl and Esta Foreman Kiker.
She grew up and attended school in Wewoka, Oklahoma and graduated from Wewoka High School. Audrey then attended Oklahoma A & M (Oklahoma State University) graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Education.
While at Oklahoma A & M she met William H (Bill) Brumage, a physics major and they were married February 14, 1947 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After Bill graduated with a Masters in Physics they moved to Monticello, Arkansas where he was on the faculty at Arkansas A & M. Later they lived in Ruston, Louisiana where he accepted a position at Louisiana Tech University. They moved to Norman, Oklahoma while he earned a P.H.D. in Physics at the University of Oklahoma. After returning to Ruston, Bill became head of the Physics Department. After 34 years at Louisiana Tech University Bill retired and they moved to Norman, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Brumage was active in volunteer work over the years and had an affiliation in several organizations. Including Junior Guild, Littera Club, Faculty Wives Club, Ruston Band Parents Club and served as treasurer and guard as a member of AP Chapter, P.E.O. of Louisiana. Later in Norman she was a member of Ex Libris Book Club and an avid bridge player. She was a lifelong member of Ruston First Baptist Church and a present member of First Baptist Church of Norman.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; sister, Levita Jo Stackpole; and a niece, Pam Hager. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Robinson; granddaughter Jennifer Schindewolf and her husband Kevin; and two nephews and six cousins.
