Asa Lee Smith, 87, passed away on October 8, 2018. Asa was born on September 26, 1931 in Cleveland County, where he stayed for his entire life. Asa served in the Army for 5 years, then the National Guard. He attended school at OCU and worked at Tinker Air Force Base. Asa was also a truckdriver for Doyle Todd Sinclair. He enjoyed traveling all over the United States. Asa loved studying history especially military history. His hobbies included going to the casinos, hunting, fishing and gardening. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Asa is survived by his 4 children, Lee Ann Inman and husband Kenneth, Susan Gee and husband Butch, Donna Roberts and husband Jonnie, and Tim Smith and wife Jessica; grandchildren, Erik Gee, Kelly Inman, Kevin Inman, Justin Roberts, Patty Gee (Little), Kacie Inman, Jancy Roberts-Johnson, Grayson Smith, Barrett Smith, and Emma Smith; great grandchildren, Nick Gee, Shelby Roberts, Alex Gee, Kristen Inman, Malachi Little; brother, Lewis Smith and wife Carol; and a host of other loving family members. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred (Usry) Smith; parents, Rufus and Lillie Smith and brothers and sisters. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Norman Veteran Center. Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 11, 2018, at Denver Cemetery, Norman OK. Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, OK.
