Ansis's Story

Graveside services for Ansis Abolins, 72 year-old will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2018, 10:00 A.M. at Rose Hill Burial Park with Pastor Wendi Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Weatherford.

Ansis was born August 13, 1945, in Oldenburg, Germany to Julijs and Anna (Karklins) Abolins and passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Clinton Veterans Center in Clinton, Oklahoma. Ansis throughout his lifetime had been a resident of Oklahoma City, Norman, and the Veterans Center in Clinton, Oklahoma. While residing in Norman, Ansis attended McFarlin Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Ansis received a bachelor's degree from the University of Central Oklahoma. His career included management positions in sales and personnel. Ansis was a loyal Sooner fan since the mid 1950's.

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Ints and MaryAnn Abolins of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania; nephew, Edward; and nieces, Andrea, Jennifer, and Alison and their spouses, as well as six great-nephews and great- nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, Julijs and Lidija (Karklins) Abolins.

The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of the Clinton Veterans Center for their wonderful and compassionate care of Ansis.
