Agnes's Story

Agnes Viola Sharp formerly of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away November 2, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma from complications from a fall. She was born on April 15, 1929 in Norman, Oklahoma to Charles T. and Bertha (Grill) Brockhaus.

Agnes graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City. She married Virgil Sharp in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1963. Agnes had lived in Guthrie since 1979. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters. She was employed with C.W. Smith Construction and worked in the office. Agnes was a "Pink Lady" at Logan Hospital with the Ladies Auxiliary where she logged several thousand volunteer hours.

Survivors include her 6 children, Michael Taloff of Yukon, Ronald Sharp of Huntsville,AL, Joseph Sharp of Guthrie, Cheryl Medders ( Gaylen) of Wichita, KS, Patricia Woodard of Dallas, TX and Carolyn Andrews (William) of Oklahoma City. She is also survived by 12 Grandchildren and 19 Great grandchildren, several cousins including Paula Hewitt of Noble and dear friend Fran McEwen of Guthrie.. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; husband Virgil Sharp in 1996; 2 brothers, Arthur and Ralph Brockhaus; 2 sisters, Dorothy Guthrie and Irene McCorkel and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, November 9, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. James Wickersham officiating. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

A Rosary will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM.
